Single Level Luxury Getaway Home
Surrounded by some of the most stunning natural sites in this hemisphere, the Johnson Canyon Ranch is just as breathtaking. Just a stone’s throw from Hell’s Bellows, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, and even the Grand Canyon, this home’s location is matched by the elegance and uniqueness of the residence.
At just under 6,000 square feet, this sprawling ranch also features a garage that is just under 2,500. This gives the owner ample room to store vehicles, exercise equipment and more. Porches on the front and rear of the house, along with a barbeque pavilion means there are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy as well.
The front porch leads to the main entryway, which has incorporated an elegant waterfall feature and looks into the great room. Cathedral ceilings, a large fireplace, and a wet bar make this the perfect place to entertain friends and family.
The wing to the right of the living room starts with a large kitchen with a walk-in pantry. A large island has bar seating and there is plenty of counter space for prep work. Across the hall from the kitchen is the formal dining room, which is large enough to fit a long, dining table. This room also has direct access to the wine cellar.
Beyond the kitchen is the laundry room, a room that could be used as a home office or den, and the master suite. The master bedroom features its own fireplace and a door out to the back porch. A massive master bath and dressing room finish out this side of the house.
On the opposite side of the living room is a large home theater. The rest of this wing of the ranch contains a bunk room with its own bathroom and a guest suite. There is also a trash/recycling room and more storage space.

A Mountaintop Craftsman Cottage
Taking inspiration from Sarah Susanka’s “Not So Big House”, the owners of the Bretton Woods Cottage focused on and efficient house that was the “right size.” Situated on a bluff with breathtaking views of the surrounding White Mountains, this Craftsman inspired cottage takes full advantage of its proximity to Bretton Woods Ski Area. Situated to highlight the stunning views of Mount Washington, Mount Eisenhower, and Mount Lafayette, this home ensures beautiful surroundings no matter where you are.
In addition to accentuating its gorgeous views, the owners had two other important priorities in designing the Bretton Woods Cottage. First, they wanted to ensure the home was energy efficient, so they used triple pane windows on the North side of the building and solar gain windows on the South side. SIPS with higher r-values and extending the SIP framing below the first floor framing also contributed to this goal.
An Arts and Crafts aesthetic was the other key element to the Bretton Woods Cottage’s design. Whether it is the front door by Rogue Valley Door, the cherry wood stair balustrade or the implementation of textured handmade tiles in the bathrooms and kitchen, this style is evident throughout the home. Perhaps the most stunning feature is the glass mosaic on the fireplace by Theodore Ellison and complemented by beautiful stained glass cabinets.
Twin Mountain Great Camp
An Adirondack Style Mountain Home
Surrounded by New Hampshire’s White Mountains, the Twin Mountain Great Camp was designed with the Adirondacks in mind. Not only does this ski getaway evoke this style with authentic birch-bark accents throughout, railings fabricated from actual tree branches, and a majestic fireplace featuring stones from the Adirondacks. While this home’s inspiration is clear, it is a truly unique space with elaborate trusses and roof geometry that are certain to make an impact.
Entering the home, you immediately find yourself in the spacious great room. With soaring cathedral ceilings featuring beautiful Douglas fir trusses, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and large windows looking out onto the mountains, this space is truly breath-taking. Beyond the great room is the kitchen, whose Shaker-style, green cabinetry adds a nice splash of color. A striking, zinc stove hood is certain to catch your eye, while the white oak island provides extra prep space or a wonderful spot for informal dining. The deck off of the kitchen has its own outdoor kitchen area with its own fireplace and seating area.

A Custom Lakefront Vacation Retreat
Sitting on a peninsula in Lake Winnipesaukee, the Hanson Cove Lake Lodge is the perfect place to gather with family and friends for some waterfront fun and relaxation. While its location provides occupants with plenty of options for enjoying the lake, this residence ensures an enjoyable time for all, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
The first floor of this expansive home contains most of the public spaces. This includes the great room, kitchen, dining room, office/library, and a gathering area. Connecting the garage to the main house is a mudroom and foyer.
The walkout basement level is a cozy place to spend a rainy day. It has a TV Nook, a home theater and game room, and an exercise room. Additionally, a wine cellar, wet bar, and kitchenette finish up this level, which also has access to a screen porch and a stunning terrace.
Private quarters for the Hanson Cove Lake Lodge are on the top floor, featuring six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. This includes the master suite, which has a master bath and dressing room, along with its own private deck.
Albemarle County Retreat
A Modern Farmhouse Retreat
The Albemarle County Retreat is not only stunning on the inside but offers various spaces to enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Even when faced with potential hurdles, Smith and Robertson found ways to make them work to their advantage. Issues with storm-water drainage on site led to the installation of a charming timber bridge to the front porch and entryway.
The unique details continue on the interior of the house. An elegant water feature greets you upon entry, and the home is full of custom woodwork and metalwork accents. From the foyer, you look into the Great Room, complete with a large, window wall and cathedral ceiling. Above the room is a loft space.
The master wing is to the right of the Great Room and also includes a nursery, a full bathroom and a half bathroom. The large master bedroom connects to a large walk-in wardrobe and spacious master bathroom. There is also a private deck off of the master suite.
Moving to the left of the Great Room is a large kitchen with a generous pantry. Towards the back of this wing is the dining room, which also leads into a small living room with its own fireplace. The kitchen also connects to a small mudroom off of the breezeway that joins the main house to the garage.
The finished lower level of the Albemarle County Retreat has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a recreation room. Meanwhile, above the four-car garage is a small apartment. With two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room and small kitchenette and dining area, this is the perfect place for guests.
